Evergreen's Otter Crawler is a topwater lure developed under the supervision of Mr. Toshifumi Kikumoto, designed to target big black bass with a realistic, multi-directional, and sound-driven action. 1) Duralumin wings
The lateral wings are made of 1mm thick duralumin, lightweight yet highly durable. The upward-folded design prevents deformation and ensures a strong grip on the water for a sharp crawling action. They produce a mix of splashing and metal-on-metal sounds during movement.
2) Wing opening control hinge
A small bead installed only on the front screw prevents the wings from sticking to the body during casting. Upon water impact, the wings open instantly and start working immediately.
3) Adjustable wing screws
Manual wing angle adjustment screws allow you to fine-tune the lure's tracking. If it veers to the right, slightly rotate the right wing screw (marked "R"); if it veers left, adjust the left one (marked "L"). This ensures balanced, stable swimming.
4) Low center of gravity weights
Tungsten in the front and steel in the rear stabilize the crawl motion and prevent the lure from landing upside down. If it does flip, a single twitch will correct its posture, often triggering a reaction strike.
5) Double joint system
High-strength dual joint system with narrow spacing between segments. Produces a deep "hit sound" as parts collide, amplified by the concave shape of the rear body.
6) Curved rear body + elevated blade eye
The arched rear body and high-positioned blade eye keep the blade raised above the water, enhancing exposure and producing a crisp, consistent sound.
7) V-shaped metal blade
A V-shaped metal blade resists deformation from casting impacts. It makes a sharp metallic sound when it contacts the lure body above the surface.
8) Rear upper stopper
A small bump on the rear top of the body prevents the blade from getting stuck after landing, ensuring continuous motion.
9) Single & Double ventral concaves
Concave sections on the belly enhance water grip during slow retrieves and channel flow during fast retrieves. They increase downward water push and vibration output.
10) Flat keel
A keel located lower than the front body improves water contact, helping the rear to swing more freely and enhancing acoustic output.
11) Rear under fin
Mounted at an upward angle on the lower rear body, this fin stabilizes lateral motion and enhances horizontal water displacement. It also boosts blade movement and sound.
