Shimano's Cardiff XR is a particular reel designed for Trout Area and Trout Native Fishing and which comes directly from the Japanese market. Combining a classic look with minimal weight, it perfectly matches and balances finesse trout rods and benefits from a special drag design for using the latest thin diameter lines. Visually different from other Shimano spinning reels, thanks to the round cork handle and deep green pearlescent finish, this is a reel that stands out. With a light twist at start-up, offering brilliant fingertip control of the bait and ultra-fine front drag precision, calibrated for the thinnest lines. As expected from a high-end SHIMANO reel designed for finesse techniques, the Cardiff XR is equipped with a wide selection of cutting-edge technologies. The lightweight CI4+ body has the G-FREE design for optimal balance when using ultra-light rods. Inside, HAGANE gearing, X-SHIP, Micro Module II and Silent Drive combine to produce smooth, efficient rotation, further enhanced by the latest low-inertia MGL rotor for ultra-light rotation. The Cardiff XR is equipped with a special felt disc drag that inspires confidence in fighting fish, especially when the catch is close to the landing net.
