Nissin's ZEROSUM Hatsu-ume is a rod born in Japan for Hae-zuri (ハエ釣り), a traditional hand-fishing technique (without reel) mainly dedicated to small freshwater cyprinids, especially the Ugui (Japanese dace), typically found in small streams and creeks. It represents a true MADE IN JAPAN masterpiece. This rod, developed with great attention to lightness and action, uses low-resin, high-strength, high-modulus carbon. Thanks to a carefully optimized and repeated design process, it achieves an incredible weight of only 33 g at a length of 3.95 m! Despite this astonishing lightness, it maintains a sharp feel and excellent handling, essential characteristics for such delicate, finesse techniques. This model encapsulates the know-how and experience that Nissin has accumulated over many years of rod development, offering a high-level technical balance. Its design is based on a refined black elegance, enriched with metallic red and silver accents, which give it a luxurious and sophisticated touch. In addition, the aluminum-machined butt cap, designed exclusively for the ZEROSUM Hatsu-ume series, further enhances the joy of owning it. Thanks to all these features, it also proves to be an excellent choice for Tenkara fishing.
ROLLING TOP
The ZEROSUM Hatsu-ume is equipped with a smooth-rotating tip that eliminates line tangling! By allowing the lillian part of the tip to rotate smoothly, it prevents line twist, tangles, and rigging troubles. The rotating mechanism is made entirely of stainless steel, with a lightweight design that minimizes stress on the rod tip.
