Longin's Wakey Boo 60 is the most compact version in the Wakey Boo series, developed to precisely tackle technical fishing situations, micro-bait patterns and selective predators. With its 60 mm length and 8 g weight, it offers a reduced and easy-to-attack silhouette while maintaining the strong attracting power and pronounced water presence typical of the series. The highly buoyant fat body generates significant water displacement even at very low retrieve speeds, allowing the Wakey Boo 60 to work effectively between the surface and the layer immediately below it. On an ultra-slow retrieve, it produces a sinuous and natural rolling action just under the surface; as retrieve speed increases, it gradually shifts into a wobbling action, eventually developing a pronounced wide wobble on faster retrieves. The internal weight system is designed to support the lure's action and produce a subtle rattling sound, helping predators detect the lure even from a distance. This combination of vibration, water displacement and restrained sound makes it particularly effective on wary sea bass, pressured fish or situations where the available forage is small. Its main use is a steady retrieve at medium-slow speed, keeping the lure in the surface range. Quick speed changes through the reel trigger sudden lateral darts, creating an irregular and unpredictable action capable of provoking strikes even from apathetic or less responsive predators. How to use it?
The Wakey Boo 60 performs best with a steady medium-slow retrieve, keeping it in the range between the surface and the first few centimetres of water. In this phase, it works with a regular and natural rolling action, ideal for imitating a small baitfish in distress or prey moving slowly just below the surface. Short accelerations with the reel can trigger sudden side darts, creating an irregular and unpredictable action that can stimulate strikes even from apathetic fish or predators that follow the lure without committing. This change of rhythm is particularly useful in clear water, heavily pressured spots, or when sea bass are present but not very aggressive.
