GOTO9's Swarm 80S is an 80 mm sinking pencil weighing approximately 8.6 g, designed for Seabass fishing during marine worm swarms, known in Japan as bachi-nuke. Its design focuses on changes in prey behaviour throughout this event, allowing anglers to achieve three presentations with a single lure. A fast surface retrieve imitates the movement of active worms, while slowing down produces a sinuous action, characterised by tail oscillations. The ability to vary speed and depth allows anglers to follow changes in fish activity without wasting time switching lures.

Marine worm swarming is a reproductive phenomenon during which some polychaetes leave the seabed and swim towards the surface to release their eggs. These concentrations can provide predators with an abundant food source. The phenomenon also occurs in the Mediterranean, including lagoons, and often takes place at night, with timing influenced by the species, season and lunar cycle. Some populations reproduce in spring, while others do so over a longer period, with no single universal schedule.

The combination of a fast surface presentation, a slow surface retrieve and a gentle drifting action in the layers below makes the SWARM 80S a versatile lure for following the different phases of bachi-nuke. Developed to make the most of short feeding windows, it allows anglers to adjust the presentation by varying the retrieve. Supplied with #8 treble hooks and #1 split rings.
