Souther S60

Maria's Souther S60 is a compact sinking pencil developed for light spinning and designed to perform at its best with jerks and twitches, making it ideal for triggering strikes even from less active predators. During a steady retrieve, it maintains the effectiveness typical of a sinking pencil, while with sharp jerks its behavior changes completely, producing pronounced side-to-side glides and quick darting movements accompanied by intense flashes from its flanks. On the fall, it quickly settles into a horizontal position and produces a very natural and attractive flashing descent, with a sinking speed of approximately 3 sec/m. Even after aggressive jerks, it quickly returns to position, remaining ready to trigger a strike during the pause. With a steady retrieve, it delivers a natural tail-swing action, subtle yet effective on more cautious fish. Thanks to its upward trajectory during the action, the Souther S60 can be allowed to sink close to the bottom and then brought back up with the next jerk, allowing precise control around rocks and structures.
