Marukyu' Shioebiko is a technical salt-based powder flavored with shrimp and krill, developed for the treatment, preservation, and strengthening of baits intended for sea fishing. Its dehydrating action firms up the fibers of the bait, reducing loss of consistency during baiting, casting, and time spent in the water. Applied directly to fresh baits such as sardine fillets, whole sardines, fish strips, mussels, shellfish, and other soft baits, Shioebiko helps produce a tougher bait that is more stable on the hook and less likely to break apart during long-distance casts or deep-water drops.
At the same time, the shrimp and krill aroma penetrates the bait, increasing its attracting power and further stimulating fish to bite. It's also particularly suitable for preparing and freezing baits. The salts contained in the mixture help limit ice formation inside the bait, keeping it compact, elastic, and easy to work with after thawing. This makes it possible to preserve whole sardines, sardine fillets, shellfish, mussels, and other delicate baits without making them excessively hard or brittle.
The powder therefore performs a dual function: on one hand, it dries and firms the bait, improving its hold on the hook; on the other, it enriches it with a strong crustacean-based aromatic attraction, making it more effective while fishing.
Main features
- Saline dehydrator for sea-fishing baits
- Flavored with shrimp and krill, increasing the bait's attracting power
- Improves bait hold on the hook and reduces breakage during long-distance casts or deep-water drops
- Ideal for fresh baits such as whole sardines, sardine fillets, mussels, shellfish, fish strips, and fishing worms
- Useful for preserving and freezing baits, as the salts help limit excessive freezing of the bait
- Makes baits tougher while keeping them soft and natural
- Content: 750g
How to use?
- Lay out 2 or 3 sheets of newspaper and spread some Shioebiko over them.
- Place the chosen bait on top, then sprinkle more product over the bait.
- Wrap everything in the newspaper, place it in a plastic bag or container, and seal it well.
- Store in the refrigerator, in a cooler bag, or in a cool, shaded place until use.
- For best results, it's recommend preparing the bait the day before your fishing trip, so the garlic aroma has enough time to penetrate properly.
- It can also be used on leftover bait after fishing: simply sprinkle the product over the bait and store it in the refrigerator or freezer.
What about freezing?
- For longer storage, the treated bait can also be frozen.
- In this case, place it in a well-sealed bag or airtight container, trying to remove as much excess air as possible.
- Before use, let the bait thaw gradually, preferably in the refrigerator or in a cooler bag.
- If necessary, once thawed, you can add a small amount of product to refresh the aroma.
- Freezing is especially useful for storing leftover bait or preparing bait in advance for future fishing trips.
Usage note: if applied to live baits, such as worms or other live bait organisms, it may cause them to die due to the saline action. However, the bait will become more compact and resistant, a useful characteristic for long-distance surfcasting, beach fishing, or deep-water fishing.
