G-CRAFT's Seven-Sense TR "MIDNIGHT MONSTER" is part of the SEVEN-SENSE TR series, the flagship lineup of seabass spinning rods! The acronym TR stands for "Technical Response", and each model in the series is designed to provide an instant and precise reaction to the angler's input, allowing lightning-fast hooksets even on subtle bites, and razor-sharp lure control, even in pressured waters. All TR models are built using a composite of high-strength, low-resin carbon (30t, 40t, and up to 46t), resulting in lightweight yet ultra-responsive blanks. The perfect choice for anglers seeking a highly technical and balanced rod, offering maximum responsiveness and precision at every stage of the fishing action.
MMS-992-TR "Nightriver BIG-ONE Special" (MIDNIGHT MONSTER 99 TR)
The second generation MIDNIGHT MONSTER 992 "Nightriver BIG-ONE Special" was developed for targeting trophy-class Sea Bass in large rivers, strong currents and low rocky shorelines, further evolving the MIDNIGHT MONSTER concept. Thanks to TORZITE guides mounted on full titanium frames, the overall rod weight has been drastically reduced, significantly improving responsiveness, recovery speed, and lure control. The blank features a composite carbon structure using 30t+40t materials in the tip section and 30t+40t+46t in the butt section, increasing sensitivity, rigidity, and power under load. The blank maintains the progressive action typical of the TR series, but with substantially greater reserve power, designed to fight large Sea Bass and powerful predators in heavy current without losing control. Originally conceived for technical river seabass game fishing, the MIDNIGHT MONSTER also delivers outstanding performance from low rocky shorelines, maintaining high sensitivity even in strong wind, rough seas, and aggressive retrieves with medium-heavy lures up to 45g.
Components & Construction
- Fuji K titanium frame guides with ultra-lightweight TORZITE rings for unmatched sensitivity and smoothness;
- G-CRAFT CNC-machined carbon reel seat, extremely lightweight and adjustable (variable seat positioning system);
- Original G-CRAFT spigot joint, reinforced with plain weave carbon for a seamless curve and consistent blank response;
- High-density EVA grip, paired with the carbon reel seat for reduced weight and enhanced control;
- Blank built from high-modulus, low-resin carbon, with a 30t+40t tip and 30t+40t+46t butt structure for maximum responsiveness and strength.
Action & Performance
The MMS-992-TR features a fast-progressive action developed for technical power game fishing in strong current and severe conditions. The extremely sensitive tip allows anglers to perfectly detect water pressure, lure rolling, and current variations, while the butt section delivers extraordinary reserve power with a smooth and controlled progression under load. The blank loads extremely efficiently during casting, allowing long-distance casts even with heavy vibrations, large sinking pencils, and 120mm-140mm minnows. The fast recovery speed significantly improves casting accuracy, hook-setting speed, and overall fish control during the fight, making it ideal for extreme situations where sensitivity, power, and control must coexist without compromise.
Recommended fishing spots
Large rivers with strong current, especially after rainfall, estuaries with significant tidal movement, low rocky shorelines, wind-exposed areas with rough water, large canals, and technical environments where long casting distance, total lure control, and maximum fish-fighting power are essential.
Ideal lure weight
- Full range: up to 45g;
- Minnow: 24g-35g (120mm-140mm);
- Sinking Pencil: 20g-40g;
- Vibration: 21g-35g;
- Metal Vibration / Jig: up to 35g;
- Technical power game hardbaits: optimal use around 28g-31g.
