Retro Basic

Valleyhill's Retro Basic is a series of boat rods for Ika Metal and Omorig, developed to make squid fishing from a boat simple, effective and accessible. The blank features a responsive and easy-to-handle action, designed to perform jerks, lifts, drops, shakes and pauses with metal sutte and egi with precision. The sensitive carbon solid tip allows anglers to detect even the lightest squid bites both visually and by feel, distinguishing them from movements caused by current and boat drift. The middle section of the blank provides precise control of the rig during both lure manipulation and the falling phase. The lower section delivers the power required for effective hook-sets and for correctly managing squid during retrieval from greater depths. RBC-63MT (Ika Metal)
The RBC-63MT is a casting model designed for Ika Metal fishing and compatible with metal sutte up to size 30, corresponding to approximately 115 g. Its responsive action allows precise jerks, shakes, lifts and pauses while maintaining direct control of the rig. RBS-62OMO (Omorig)
The RBS-62OMO is a spinning model developed primarily for Omorig, although it can also be used effectively for Ika Metal fishing. The spinning configuration makes casting easier and allows the rig to be positioned farther away from the boat, helping the angler explore a wider area of water. The sensitive carbon solid tip offers excellent visibility and makes even the lightest bites easy to recognise.
