Trefle Creation's Rafalea JT118SF is the new Slow Floating version, measuring 11.8 cm and weighing 21 grams. It was developed in response to the strong demand for a floating model within the RAFALE JT series, which until now had only been available in a sinking version. In addition, due to trademark restrictions on the name RAFALE in Europe, the new 118 mm floating version was named RAFALEA JT118SF (with an added "A" at the end). Why a 118 mm Slow Floating model? The reason is simple: thanks to new design solutions, even the floating version achieves excellent casting distance, comparable to that of a floating minnow with an integrated lip. In fact, the Rafalea JT118SF features the Pendulum Lock System, which eliminates the weak point of jointed lures—casting distance—while a rear ball weight helps keep the lure stable during flight. Moreover, given today's increasing fishing pressure, which makes fish more wary, the Slow Floating design allows anglers to take advantage of techniques such as slow drift fishing, improving the chances of catching even the most reluctant fish. Perfect for targeting sea bass—and more.
Pendulum Lock System
During the cast, the pendulum connects the two body parts, making them behave as if they were a single piece.
Once it hits the water, the pendulum "drops" toward the front section, allowing the tail to move freely.
This way, the Rafalea JT118SF can begin its natural swimming action.
Action with jerking
With small rod movements, the RAFALEA JT118SF performs wide side-to-side darts (darting action), ideal for provoking even the most suspicious fish.
Versatility
It allows for both a slow, natural presentation and a more aggressive, dynamic retrieve.
Action: Slow Floating
Sink rate: Variable
