Longin's Plex SR is the "Just below the surface" version of the Plex, designed to work just beneath the surface. It's ideal when seabass are feeding on small, hard-to-imitate prey such as marine worms, small benthic organisms, fry, whitebait or drifting micro-baitfish. Its special weight tuning, set at 7.5 g after extensive testing, gives the Plex a slow-sinking action with a marked tendency to rise back toward the surface. This allows it to stay in the most delicate and productive water layer: from just a few centimetres below the surface down to around 30 cm deep. In current, the Plex can be used almost in a drifting presentation: simply keep the line under light tension and take up the slack, allowing the lure to follow the flow naturally. In this way, it remains suspended and floating in the water, producing a complex and highly attractive movement. In still water, on the other hand, it can be controlled with extremely slow retrieves and small movements of the rod tip, allowing precise management of the working depth just below the surface. The articulated body, connected by rings, reacts to even the slightest changes in water flow, moving freely up and down, side to side and with subtle twisting motions. This creates an irregular, delicate and unpredictable vibration, particularly effective on wary seabass, fish under heavy angling pressure or selective predators that ignore more aggressive lures. A lure designed for technical situations, calm waters, light currents, harbours, river mouths, lagoons, and spots where a slow, natural and unobtrusive presentation is required.
