Sany's One-Touch Bishi Light is a compact weighted groundbait feeder of the Andon Bishi type (meaning a "lantern-style" or "cage-style" weighted feeder). It's designed in Japan for Light Aji fishing, a technique mainly dedicated to catching mackerel, horse mackerel and other small pelagic fish from a boat. It's designed to provide a precise and adjustable release of chum bait while maintaining a simple, clean, and highly smooth structure during the fishing action.
Thanks to the One-Touch system, refilling is quick and practical: the lid opens widely halfway, allowing the chum bait to be inserted easily into the body without wasting time during the fishing session. The adjustable upper section, called Top Draft, allows the chum release to be adapted according to the consistency of the bait. The One-Touch Bishi Light is compatible with minced komase, meaning ground chum bait, even with very different consistencies: from partially frozen chum bait to very soft or liquid bait. This adjustment makes it possible to control the amount of chum released into the water, adapting it to the current, depth, and fish activity.
The compact body, measuring Ø45 x 65 mm, is designed for use with light tackle and boat rigs where sensitivity, control and precision are important. The shape, free from unnecessary protrusions, makes the jigging motion smoother and more natural, improving the transmission of rod movements and making bites clearer and easier to detect. For use with coarser ground chum bait, the body mesh can be customized by cutting and widening it with nippers, a cutter, or similar tools. This allows the feeder to be adapted to the type of chum bait used, increasing the output flow when the bait is more granular or less fluid.
Main features
- Type: weighted Andon Bishi feeder, where Andon refers to a "lantern-style" or "cage-style" shape and Bishi means weighted
- Recommended technique: Light Aji, vertical boat fishing, and controlled chumming techniques
- Compatible chum bait: ground chum bait, soft, liquid, or partially frozen chum bait
- Opening system: wide-opening lid for quick refilling
- Release adjustment: adjustable Top Draft
- Dimensions: Ø45 x 65 mm
- Weights: available in different weights
- Customization: mesh can be modified by cutting and widening the openings for coarser chum bait
- Function: controlled chum bait release to create an attractive trail around the rig
How to use?
1) Open the lid of the One-Touch Bishi Light to its wide-opening position.
2) Insert the desired ground chum bait inside.
3) Do not compress the chum bait excessively if you want a faster and more natural release.
4) Adjust the upper section, the Top Draft, according to the consistency of the chum bait: open it wider for dense or partially frozen bait, or keep it more closed for very soft or liquid bait (when using coarser ground chum bait, you can customize the mesh by cutting and widening some openings with suitable tools).
5) Choose the most suitable weight according to fishing conditions, depth, current, and technique used.
6) Connect the feeder to the boat rig according to the chosen setup.
7) Lower it slowly into the water to avoid tangles and allow the chum bait to start working properly.
8) Apply gentle vertical rod movements to help the chum bait come out and create an attractive trail around the hooks.
9) Refill when necessary and adjust the upper section, the Top Draft, if the current, depth, or chum bait consistency changes.
10) After use, rinse with fresh water to keep the opening system, feeder body, and adjustment mechanism working efficiently.
