The MADEA was born from the collaboration between Sergio Pesca and AB1, with the goal of delivering top-quality products Made in Italy, using the best components on the market and the most advanced manufacturing processes. The MADEA series is designed specifically for bottom fishing with electric reels. It features an Extra Fast action carbon blank, spiral-mounted Fuji SIC guides (with an offset second guide), a 20-micron anodized aluminum AB1 reel seat, and a 26mm super rigid EVA grip.
BLANK
The blank features an offset handle (with the blank fitting into the handle) made of high-quality carbon with a unique Extra Fast action that delivers exceptional sensitivity. This ensures full control of changing currents and helps detect even the most subtle bites. Despite the ultra-responsive tip, the blank offers incredible power reserves, even in the lighter 300g version, making it easy, safe, and fun to reel in big fish. Along the blank, you'll find the SP logo and a colored detail just above the handle, matching the color of the logo itself.
GUIDES
The blank is equipped with 16 Fuji SiC GMMNSG guides (14 for the 220XH model) in Gunsmoke color. The guides are spiral-wrapped (acid wrap or spiral wrap), with the second guide offset to ensure the line always stays centered toward the reel. This spiral wrapping system provides greater stability during the fight, eliminating lateral torque and improving control over the fish while reducing angler fatigue. The absence of blank twist allows for smoother and more direct flexing, enhancing the transmission of vibrations and fish movements, keeping the angler more aware of every phase of the fight. The line also follows a cleaner and more direct path, minimizing unwanted contact with the blank or guides, even during angled fights. This provides a real mechanical advantage, combining strength, comfort, and reliability.
GRIP, REEL SEAT AND BUTT
The MADEA features a matte black AB1 reel seat made of 20-micron anodized aluminum, matched with a butt cap of the same material and color (complete with a rubber end cap). The 26mm EVA grip is slim and contoured, measuring 18cm on the upper section and 31.5cm on the lower section. This setup ensures secure attachment of the electric reel and a firm, comfortable grip during the fight.
