Promarine's Legender Gouwan Otoshikomi is a boat rod for fishing with an electric reel, developed for the Japanese Otoshikomi technique, but perfect for Mediterranen electric deep fishing, and designed to combine bite sensitivity with power. Measuring 2.30 metres, it features a configuration for an electric multiplier reel, combining rig control with the ability to handle stress during the fight. The blank, with a carbon content of 20%, features a 7:3 action that initially concentrates the bend in the upper section of the rod and maintains a reserve of power in the lower section. This design allows the rod to respond progressively as the fish takes the bait and handle the retrieve while maintaining control under load. The Fuji LC guides complete the setup, while the two-piece construction with an offset handle provides a transport length of 158 centimetres for convenient storage. Available in three power ratings, ML, M and MH, with different sinker weight ranges, the Legender Gouwan Otoshikomi offers a versatile choice for matching the rod to the depth, current and rig weight.

What is the Japanese fishing technique called OTOSHIKOMI?
Otoshikomi is a vertical boat fishing technique that allows anglers to catch small forage fish with a rig and immediately use them, while still alive, as bait. After hooking horse mackerel or small mackerel, the rig is lowered towards predators holding deeper in the water, such as amberjack, dentex and groupers. The natural movement of the live bait makes this technique particularly effective for targeting big predatory fish.
