Yamashita's Hover is an Egi Dropper specifically designed for the Omorig technique (a variant of Ika Metal), where the long branch makes it difficult to feel bites. Thanks to the special Hover Fin on its back, the lure catches the current and quickly puts the line under tension, maintaining a stable posture that allows the angler to clearly sense squid bites. This feature also ensures stability across a wide range of currents, from slow to fast, which is particularly useful immediately after the stop phase, when squid often strike. To trigger attacks, the Hover is equipped with Switch Belly, a highly visible 490 GLOW fluorescent marker on the back of the tail, strategically positioned to attract squid chasing the lure from below (a typical scenario in Omorig fishing, since this technique involves lifting the Egi Dropper upwards). The Warm Jacket coating absorbs and retains heat from sunlight or fishing lamps, mimicking the natural temperature of small baitfish, thereby increasing its appeal. The sturdy hooks are designed to handle sudden encounters with big squid, while the six available colors, two Glow-based, two UV and two with Glow tape only (Purple and Red bases), cover most conditions depending on depth and light levels.
