Apia's GEM is a unique lipless lure specifically developed for Chinu Game (spinning fishing for black sea bream). Mr. Takahiro Shibata, Apia ambassador, initiated the development of this lure to target black sea bream (chinu) that tend to cling to vertical structures like piers and embankments. This gave rise to a next-generation lure that applies the traditional Japanese method of otoshikomi (dropping the lure vertically along a wall), reimagined through the use of an artificial plug. The GEM's stable falling posture encourages the typically cautious black sea bream to bite confidently, resulting in strong and decisive strikes!

KEY FEATURES
- Supports both free fall and tension fall techniques;
- Compatible with steady retrieve and jerk actions;
- Perfectly suited for the Kabe Chinu technique;
- Balanced design for drift fall (controlled fall with lateral drift), thanks to an external weight that improves underwater posture.

"KABE CHINU" TECHNIQUE
This technique can be used anywhere there's a vertical wall—rivers, estuaries, harbors, canals—year-round. The basic method involves dropping the lure along the wall with about one meter of line, walking five steps (a movement called tektro), pausing for five seconds, and letting the lure fall. Depending on the height of the fishing spot and water depth, you can adjust walking speed, number of steps, pause duration, fall type (free or tension), and target depth. You can choose between the 4.5g or 5.5g models depending on the day's current and depth conditions.

Action: Sinking

Swimming depths: Variable
