The FUNDAL was born from the collaboration between Sergio Pesca and AB1, with the goal of delivering top-quality products Made in Italy, using the best components on the market and the most advanced manufacturing processes. The FUNDAL series is truly unique: it has been specifically designed for modern vertical techniques, combining sensitivity with impressive power! It features a Fast action carbon blank, Fuji SIC guides (spiral-mounted in the bait version), Fuji DPS reel seat (for spinning model) and TCS (for baitcasting model), and a 26mm super rigid EVA grip.
BLANK
This 1.98m one-piece blank is made from high-quality carbon and features a special Fast action that combines great sensitivity with outstanding power. FUNDAL allows precise bait control on the bottom, providing full contact with the ground, detecting current changes, and sensing even the most delicate bites. Thanks to its Fast action, it's ideal for use both lures (such as metal jigs and jig heads) and natural baits rigged with jig heads, right along the bottom in search of Groupers, Dentex, and Black Seabream. All this is backed by an incredible power reserve, enabling the angler to handle big fish with ease, safety, and enjoyment.
GUIDES
The Bait version features 9 Fuji SiC GMMNSG guides in Gunsmoke color. The guides are spiral-wrapped (acid wrap or spiral wrap), with the second guide offset to ensure the line always stays centered toward the reel. This spiral wrapping system provides greater stability during the fight, eliminating lateral torque and improving control over the fish while reducing angler fatigue. The absence of blank twist allows for smoother and more direct flexing, enhancing the transmission of vibrations and fish movements, keeping the angler more aware of every phase of the fight. The line also follows a cleaner and more direct path, minimizing unwanted contact with the blank or guides, even during angled fights. This provides a real mechanical advantage, combining strength, comfort, and reliability.

GRIP, REEL SEAT AND BUTT
The FUNDAL is equipped with a Fuji DPS reel seat (for the Spinning version) and a Fuji TCS (for the Bait version), both featuring a double locking ring. It also includes an AB1 butt cap in matte black 20-micron anodized aluminum. The 26mm EVA grip is slim and contoured, measuring 15cm in the upper section and 39cm in the lower section. This configuration ensures a secure reel mount and a firm, comfortable grip during fights.

The SP logo is printed on the blank, with a colored detail just above the grip that matches the logo color.
