Fat Maliera 76S

Trefle Creation's Fat Maliera 76S is a 76 mm sinking vibration lure, developed under the supervision of Pro Staff Daibo as a new interpretation of the MALIERA series, with a design strongly focused on S-shaped action. While the Maliera 68S and 58S are already capable of producing a distinctive winding trajectory when retrieved slowly with the rod held high, the FAT MALIERA 76S was specifically engineered to emphasize this behavior through a wide, natural and irregular S-curve slalom action. Particular attention was paid to the pitch and width of the slalom, creating a movement capable of stimulating Sea Bass both during periods of high activity and under more difficult conditions, without becoming excessively intrusive.

One of the most interesting characteristics of the FAT MALIERA 76S is its ability to generate trajectory changes during the retrieve that can be difficult even for the angler to predict. These sudden variations within the S-shaped action create a less linear and more natural movement, helping trigger predatory reactions even when fish show little response to lures with a more regular swimming pattern. The model was developed specifically as an alternative to the MALIERA 68S and 58S when those models fail to produce reactions, while retaining the same design philosophy that defines the series: high effectiveness even in heavily pressured areas and particularly technical fishing conditions.

Thanks to the possibility of varying the retrieve speed, the FAT MALIERA 76S can also cover a particularly wide depth range. It can be worked in shallow areas with less than 1 metre of water, while increasing the retrieve speed and adjusting the presentation makes it possible to reach the bottom in areas approximately 2–3 metres deep. This ability to cover different layers of the water column makes the lure extremely versatile and allows anglers to quickly adapt it to the position of the fish, the characteristics of the spot and changes in current.

The fixed centre of gravity also ensures an extremely fast start-up action, allowing the lure to begin swimming immediately after entering the water. The 76 mm x 23 g configuration provides excellent casting performance, stability in flight and ease of use, making the FAT MALIERA 76S effective even in locations where anglers need to reach distant areas or fish accurately in windy conditions. The #6 treble hooks complete a setup designed to confidently handle even big Sea Bass.

During testing on the Tsurumi River, one of the most heavily pressured fishing areas in Tokyo Bay, Pro Staff Daibo landed a lunker Sea Bass with the very first prototype and subsequently continued to record numerous catches under high-pressure conditions. The FAT MALIERA 76S therefore represents a complementary option within the series: a lure designed for anglers looking for a more pronounced S-shaped action, an extremely broad working range and an effective response when more conventional models fail to produce results, while fully preserving the MALIERA DNA!
