Fact Gizmo

Evergreen's Fact Gizmo is designed as a surface small rubber jig, developed to trigger the predatory instincts of black bass by imitating the appearance of an insect fallen onto the water's surface. Created by Ken Fukushima, its design combines a soft body with silicone skirts, taking inspiration from the classic small rubber jig + trailer setup, but adapted specifically for topwater action. This lure operates in one of the most selective and high-pressure environments in bass fishing: the water's surface. The Gizmo serves as a gateway to a new level of presentation, where human control fades and the art of persuasion begins.

STABLE CASTING & SILENT LANDING
The oversized tail design shifts the center of gravity toward the rear, stabilizing the lure's flight posture and enhancing casting distance. The high-buoyancy elastomer material produces a subtle, natural splash upon water entry, perfectly mimicking an insect falling into the water.

NATURAL FLOATING POSTURE
The tail acts as a buoyant body, while the ultra-fine hollow silicone skirts help maintain a realistic floating posture—just like an exhausted insect drifting motionlessly on the surface.

REALISTIC MOVEMENT & RIPPLE ACTION
When gently shaken, the front arms and silicone legs generate natural ripples, similar to those made by a struggling insect. The front arms also act as resistance, allowing the lure to remain nearly stationary while still creating movement—perfect for precise and focused presentation.

LIGHT COVER PERFORMANCE
Equipped with a semi-transparent monoguard, the Gizmo protects the hook without alerting the fish. Ideal for targeting bass hidden in light cover or for "lantern fishing" (suspending the lure from a branch over the water).

HIGH HOOK-UP RATE
The raised back design combined with an integrated mini-weighted hook ensures the lure floats with a stable posture on the surface (hook facing downward). Even subtle nips at the tail often result in successful hook-ups thanks to the lure's precise geometry and lightweight terminal setup.
