Owner's Ebing Leader Kihada Ver. is a ready-made leader for boat fishing with the Ebing technique, designed to tackle powerful predators using a thick fluorocarbon leader. The special Kihada Maguro hook, with its inward-pointing tip, promotes hooking in the corner of the mouth and reduces the risk of the leader being cut by the fish's teeth. The Keimura UV coating enhances hook visibility, while the Sakamoto knot keeps the leader straight without restricting the soft lure's movement. Measuring 2.8 metres, the leader is equipped with a Hayate Snap Meji-Katsuo, designed to minimise tangles and make attachment to the rig easier.

This Kihada Ver. (キハダ) model is designed for targeting yellowfin tuna (Kihada), making it ideal for bluefin tuna too.

Technical specifications
- Fluorocarbon leader;
- Overall length: 2.8 m;
- Kihada Maguro hook with Keimura UV coating;
- Inward-pointing hook tip to promote hooking in the corner of the mouth;
- Sakamoto knot and TN knot with reinforcing wraps.

What is Ebing?
Ebing is a Japanese fishing technique mainly practised from a boat to target tuna and other large pelagic predators. It combines a metal jig and a small soft bait, each serving a different purpose within the same rig. The jig is attached to a metal spreader called a tenbin, while the soft bait is rigged on a hook at the end of a separate leader. The metal jig allows the rig to reach the desired depth quickly and attracts the fish’s attention, while the soft bait triggers the bite. The rig is worked with alternating jerks and retrieves, exploring the depth range where the predators are holding. The spreader (tenbin) reduces tangles and allows the leader to work properly. Ebing can be particularly effective when fish are feeding on small prey and showing little interest in conventional jigs.
