Owner's Ebing Leader Katsuo Ver. is a ready-made leader for boat fishing with the Ebing technique, designed to encourage bites through the use of a thin fluorocarbon leader. The special non-offset Kannuki Aomono hook prevents the soft lure from spinning and promotes hooking in the corner of the mouth, helping to reduce hook pulls. The Keimura UV coating enhances hook visibility, while the reinforced knots provide a strong connection. Measuring 2.8 metres, the leader is equipped with a Hayate Snap Meji-Katsuo, designed to minimise tangles and make attachment to the rig easier.

This Katsuo Ver. (カツオ) model is designed for targeting skipjack tuna (Katsuo) and is also ideal for little tunny and small tuna.

Technical specifications
- Fluorocarbon leader;
- Overall length: 2.8 m;
- Kannuki Aomono hook with Keimura UV coating;
- Non-offset hook to minimise soft-lure rotation;
- TN knot with reinforcing wraps.

What is Ebing?
Ebing is a Japanese fishing technique mainly practised from a boat to target tuna and other large pelagic predators. It combines a metal jig and a small soft bait, each serving a different purpose within the same rig. The jig is attached to a metal spreader called a tenbin, while the soft bait is rigged on a hook at the end of a separate leader. The metal jig allows the rig to reach the desired depth quickly and attracts the fish’s attention, while the soft bait triggers the bite. The rig is worked with alternating jerks and retrieves, exploring the depth range where the predators are holding. The spreader (tenbin) reduces tangles and allows the leader to work properly. Ebing can be particularly effective when fish are feeding on small prey and showing little interest in conventional jigs.
