These components are housed in a full metal Monocoque aluminum body, designed to maximize rigidity, torsional resistance, and precise gear alignment. POWERDRIVE DESIGN
Next-generation big game reel design concept developed to ensure maximum reliability when targeting large predators. It consists of two main units:
- POWER DRIVE ENGINE (body)
- POWER DRIVE ROTOR (rotor)

Composed of two key technologies:
- Oversized Power Digigear: enlarged and reinforced gears with optimized tooth design to increase efficiency and power transmission;
- Roller Power Oscillation: bearing-based system that drastically reduces friction, improving start-up response and retrieval smoothness.
[POWER DRIVE ROTOR]
Rotor designed with a spherical structure to combine high rigidity and low inertia. Its symmetrical construction ensures balance and resistance to external stress. It integrates:
- Crank Power Bail: specially shaped bail with optimized angle and reinforced spring system, guiding the line precisely to the roller and preventing accidental closure;
- Tough Line Roller System: new integrated structure between roller shaft and bail arm that eliminates mechanical play. The PE-specific roller reduces friction, improving smoothness, line release, and consistent retrieval.
MONOCOQUE BODY
High-rigidity and durable structural technology. In traditional reels, the drive gear is supported by the body and body cover fixed with screws. The Monocoque Body eliminates the cover and uses a high-precision plate directly screwed into the body, increasing precision, rigidity, and sealing. This design also allows larger gears, improving power and efficiency. The term “monocoque” (mono = one, coque = shell) reflects the strength of a shell, introducing a new standard in reel construction.
ATD TOUGH
Advanced drag system with high-resistance carbon washers. Ensures smooth, progressive, and consistent performance, perfectly following the fish’s runs. Allows anglers to fight large fish without constant drag adjustments.
MAGSEALED
Exclusive Daiwa sealing technology using magnetic oil to create a barrier against water, salt, and impurities. Protects internal components, increasing durability and reliability even in extreme marine environments.
MAGSEALED LINE ROLLER
Protective system applied to the line roller, one of the most exposed parts to water and sand. Enhances durability, maintains smooth rotation, and reduces line twist, preserving long-term performance.
LC-ABS SW
Spool with double taper profile designed to optimize line release. Reduces friction during casting and increases distance, especially with thick braided lines. Improves performance in the final phase of the cast, with approximately 2% increase in casting distance.
