CAIYEN VSM Omorig

Megabass's CAIYEN VSM Omorig is the Omorig-specific series within the VSM range, developed exclusively for spinning reels and specifically designed by Megabass for the Omorig technique. Each model combines the brand's most advanced rod-building technologies with the expertise of Megabass rod builders, with the aim of delivering extreme sensitivity, precise rig control and maximum effectiveness in vertical squid fishing. The blank construction, highly sensitive tip, guide system and exclusive Megabass Head Locking System are designed to enhance both tactile sensitivity through the hand and visual bite detection. Even the faintest and most uncertain signals can be detected more clearly, allowing faster and more accurate hook-sets. These spinning models for Omorig fishing are equipped with the MBCS (D.PAT.) reel seat, featuring a distinctive bridge-shaped rear rib that fits deeply into the palm. This configuration provides a secure and comfortable grip with minimal pressure, improves vibration transmission and allows precise control of the Omorig rig throughout every stage of the fishing action. All models are fitted with Fuji SiC-S guides.

ITO HEAD LOCKING SYSTEM-CAIYEN SPEC (PAT.)
The solid-machined aluminium hood increases the rigidity of the connection with the blank and amplifies the vibrations transmitted to the angler’s hand. It allows even the lightest bites, the condition of the rig and changes in current to be detected with greater clarity.

MBCS-MEGABASS BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION SEAT (D.PAT.)
A spinning reel seat featuring a C-shaped arch structure, designed to provide high strength, a secure grip and direct contact with the blank. It improves rod control and sensitivity when fishing in deep water.

VSM-63MS
The Megabass CAIYEN VSM-63MS is an Omorig spinning rod designed for use with sinkers from size 10 to 30 (35–110 g) and primarily with size 2.5 egi. Its 6'3" length, determined through extensive field testing, provides an excellent combination of handling, precision and fast operation, allowing effective fishing from the surface down to approximately 100 metres. It is particularly suited to underhand casting and searching for squid away from the boat through sequences of falling, jerking and pausing. Its exceptional sensitivity allows the angler to detect even the most delicate contacts, including squid bites at depths exceeding 90 metres. The blank clearly transmits changes in bottom composition, current, rig tension and typical pressure-type bites, ensuring precise control of the egi after the cast. A specialised and well-balanced model developed for technical, dynamic and highly responsive Omorig fishing.

VSM-68MHS
The Megabass CAIYEN VSM-68MHS is an Omorig spinning rod specifically designed for heavy rigs. Developed for sinkers from size 20 to 40 (75–150 g), it is compatible with size 2.5 egi and double Omorig configurations, operating effectively at depths of up to approximately 120 metres. The high-tension midsection and powerful butt section provide fast and precise jerking performance even with sinkers heavier than size 30 (110 g) and in areas affected by strong currents. The high-strength blank safely handles the casting of heavier rigs and reduces physical strain when retrieving from deep water. Its 6'8" length allows the angler to reach areas farther from the boat and search a wider section of water. The Medium Heavy action delivers power, responsiveness and control, making the VSM-68MHS ideal for targeting squid in deep water and under the most demanding conditions.
