Sany's Bonito Tenbin is an anti-tangle arm (technically known as a "Tenbin") designed for bonito fishing, but also suitable for palamita and small tuna, using heavy Japanese-style boat bottom fishing rigs or light drifting techniques from the boat. Its high-power structure, made with Ø2.5 mm wire and a short 25 cm arm, provides rigidity, control and fast handling of the terminal rig.
The compact design helps keep the leader separated from the sinker or groundbait feeder, reducing tangles and line twist during dropping, retrieving, and fighting the fish. The curved grip design with a rubber tube makes it easier to handle, even with wet hands, while the integrated power swivels improve leader rotation under tension.
It's used when a cleaner and stronger rig is required for fast and hard-fighting fish. The 25 cm arm is short enough for quick terminal-rig handling on board, yet long enough to reduce the leader from wrapping around the sinker or feeder. It's recommended for boat fishing techniques using natural bait such as sardine, fish fillet, squid, or bait rigs intended for bonito, palamita, and small tuna species.
Main features
- Size: Ø2.5 mm x 25 cm
- Type: Tenbin = boat anti-tangle spacer arm
- Recommended use: bonito, palamita, small tuna, fishing in current, deep fishing
- Function: leader separation, reduced tangles, greater control while fishing
How to use
The Sany Bonito Tenbin is used as a connecting element between the main line, sinker or feeder, and the hook leader. It should be inserted into the rig so that the arm keeps the leader away from the main body of the setup.
Recommended rigging layout
Main line → Sany Bonito Tenbin → sinker/groundbait feeder on the lower side → hook leader on the end of the arm
Why use it
It improves bait presentation, reduces tangles, makes the drop smoother, and helps maintain better control during retrieval. It's especially useful in current, with medium-to-long leaders, or when targeting fish that create line twist during powerful runs.
