Maria's Bigro SS95 is an innovative topwater lure featuring the exclusive Claw Hook system. It represents a new generation of surface lures specifically developed for targeting Hirasuzuki (Japanese blackfin seabass), a technique where missed strikes on the surface are extremely common. In rough water and foamy conditions, the lure is often pushed away by waves, and traditional belly-mounted trebles struggle to hook properly, resulting in frequent missed hooksets.

To solve this issue, Maria revolutionized the traditional hook setup by introducing the CLAW HOOK (クローフック): an innovative system with treble hooks positioned on the sides of the body (left and right) instead of underneath the belly. This configuration was developed after studying the predatory behavior of Hirasuzuki, which typically attacks from below in an upward strike ("kuia-ge"), accelerating rapidly and often knocking the lure out of the water. Hirasuzuki is a territorial and highly wary predator with exceptionally sharp eyesight. It holds position near rocks and underwater structures, waiting for baitfish swept into the foam before launching sudden upward attacks. In these conditions, the unstable trajectory of a traditional topwater lure makes it difficult for belly-mounted trebles to penetrate effectively.

The Bigro SS95 project is the result of extensive development through multiple prototypes: starting from a classic two-hook model, moving to a double ventral hook system mounted on wire (which caused leader tangling), and finally evolving into the definitive side-hook design. This final solution maintained the lure's swimming performance while significantly improving hook-up ratios.

During the rolling surface action, one of the side trebles remains constantly aligned in an optimal hooking position, increasing hook-up success even during violent and sudden strikes.

The Maria Bigro SS95 with Claw Hook represents a true evolution in rock shore topwater fishing: more solid hooksets, fewer missed strikes, and maximum effectiveness in the toughest conditions.
