Designed to balance extreme lightness with high durability, the new Ballistic AIR LT features the new ZAION V rotor, which reduces weight and enhances sensitivity, offering flawless control during every stage of fishing. The Monocoque (MQ) body made of Zaion ensures a compact design with no side screws, increasing resistance to water and salt. The lineup includes various sizes, from 2000 to 5000, suitable for light to medium fishing in saltwater, freshwater, and brackish environments. AIRDRIVE DESIGN
An innovative system composed of three integrated technologies. It optimizes lightness, smoothness, and retrieve fluidity. Inertia during rotation has been significantly reduced without sacrificing strength or rigidity—hallmarks of Daiwa reels.
AIRDRIVE ROTOR
New AIRDRIVE ROTOR made of ZAION V, with a new spherical-inspired shape. This reduces weight while increasing sensitivity, maintaining excellent rigidity and durability. The new shape drastically lowers rotational inertia for a smoother retrieve.
AIRDRIVE BAIL
Constructed from a single-piece solid structure that combines lightness with rigidity. The bail arm angle has been optimized to facilitate smooth line transition to the line roller. This results in a lighter feel and fewer issues during use.
AIRDRIVE SPOOL
The spool has been slimmed down by removing unnecessary material both externally and internally. This weight optimization enhances retrieve sensitivity and casting performance. A redesigned anti-tangle line deflector and refined clicker mechanism further improve user experience.
MONOCOQUE BODY
The monocoque Zaion body gives the reel exceptional structural rigidity and better resistance under stress. Its single-piece construction allows for a larger main gear, improving torque transmission and power, while also enhancing protection against dirt and salt intrusion.
TOUGH DIGIGEAR
Cold-forged and high-precision machine-cut gears—larger than traditional Digigear—for improved durability and long-term performance.
MAGSEALED BODY
A special magnetic oil membrane seals the pinion's exit point from the body, preventing water intrusion. This preserves internal mechanisms, enhances corrosion resistance, and extends reel life. On the new Ballistic AIR LT, Magsealed is applied to the body for smoother rotation and reduced friction.
ATD TYPE-L DRAG
The new ATD TYPE-L drag system (also used on the flagship Exist model) provides a smoother and more progressive drag action. It allows for finer adjustments, especially when using ultra-light lines, and reduces sudden jerks during fights. On size 5000, the reel is equipped with an ATD Tough drag with carbon washers.
