ARTEX "R2" GEN3

DRT's ARTEX "R2" GEN3 is a specialized casting rod developed for modern technical big baiting, designed to provide a high level of sensitivity, precision, and control throughout every stage of the fishing action. The blank uses an optimized combination of high- and medium-modulus carbon, engineered to deliver a fast and precise response while maintaining the necessary progressive behavior under load. The Fast / Variable Action allows the angler to impart sharp and immediate movements to the lure, while also improving hook-setting speed and fish control during the fight.

The project required more than five years of development, during which DRT refined the taper, tip recovery speed, and overall balance of the rod. The high sensitivity of the blank makes it possible to clearly detect changes in current, bottom contours, and underwater structure even at long range, making the R2 GEN3 suitable for more precise techniques such as worming and technical cranking. The taper and action are derived from the historic RazzleDazzle, further evolved to achieve a superior balance between casting performance, lure control, sensitivity, and power.

With the GEN3, DRT also introduced a straight rear grip with J-GRIP, eliminating the edges of the previous separate-grip configuration and improving comfort during more aggressive rod movements. The increased grip weight also contributes to an even more effective response during fast and sharp rod actions, especially when working swimbaits such as the DRT K9. A highly refined and technical rod, designed to combine precision, sensitivity, and power when using big baits up to 4.5 oz.
